The Story Behind Why Petite Fashion.

Guess what? Although only 70% of the women I talked to were 5'4" and under, more than 90% of them experienced issues like long torsos, dragging hemlines, wide shoulders, and falling straps. Most importantly, these women didn't feel confident in their clothes and often felt self-conscious when they were supposed to feel their best.

The Story Behind Why Petite Fashion.

Let me share with you how Sylphic was built to become a brand dedicated to Petite Women.

To be honest, Petite Fashion wasn’t my first consideration, despite the hours and days spent brainstorming about what kind of clothing brand I could bring to this world. But all my initial ideas were wiped away after I spoke to more than 200 women about the REAL PROBLEMS they face with clothing.

I was shocked to discover the sheer number of women facing these issues. Online research shows that almost 50% of women worldwide fall under the "petite" category, yet we’re massively overlooked by the fashion industry. Many women feel like an afterthought by big brands with clothes that are merely shortened versions of standard sizes, with very limited styles available.

After listening to the thoughts and experience of many women out there, I deeply relate to their frustrations—it's difficult, annoying, and disheartening. One particularly sad story I came across was of a woman who came out of several stores in tears because she couldn't find a pair of pants that fit her petite body. To make matters worse, many petite women end up spending almost 50% of the garment's price on alterations, just to make them wearable. This predicament is unfair and disheartening.

As both a designer and a petite woman, I've experienced these challenges firsthand and know for sure that petite women need more than just shortened garments—we need clothing designed specifically to fit and flatter our frames. This is the reason why I have built Sylphic to become a brand dedicated to making petite women feel confident and beautiful every day.

Sylphic redefines petite fashion, offering pieces for special occasions, work, and weekends. We're here to make you feel heard and understood. You don't have to feel frustrated about being shorter than what is classified as "standard." You are beautiful in your own way, and you deserve clothes that make you feel that way.

– Yours sincerely, Anh
